Production management

A photo production is decided as much by organisation as by the image. At Wet Paint Factory, every project is scoped, planned and followed by a project manager, from the first request to the handover of the files.

Scoping and quoting

Every project starts with a specification written to measure. Before giving a figure, we clarify with you what you expect from each image: the mood, the colour palette, the level of retouching, the references to respect. That detail determines the time spent per image, and therefore the quote, always tailor-made.

The quote states the scope (number of images, type of retouching, references taken into account), the estimated retouching time, the number of rounds of revisions included and what is charged beyond that, the schedule, and the format and final use of the files.

Once the quote is signed and your images received, we produce a test retouch. It lets you validate the direction before we launch the series.

Planning and coordination

Every project is led by a project manager, who remains your point of contact from start to finish. Agathe Angles, founder, leads the campaign, editorial and fashion show projects. Pierre and Celia lead the packshot productions. The project manager relies on the team's retouchers: on a series of mood images, two retouchers work together.

When delivery is not urgent, we say so at the scoping stage and the schedule is organised around that margin.

A project rarely unfolds exactly as planned. If your references change along the way, we readjust the direction on the test retouch, check what has already been processed and quote the difference before continuing. If images arrive late or incomplete, we tell you right away, shift the schedule accordingly and continue on what is available. If feedback piles up or contradicts itself between several contacts, the project manager centralises it and asks for a single, consolidated response before retouching.

Delivery

We deliver high-resolution files (TIFF or PSD) and JPEG versions for validation. File naming follows your own nomenclature, or a convention defined together at the scoping stage. Files are handed over through a secure download link, or placed on your server. Depending on the schedule, delivery is made in one go or in batches. We keep your images for one year.
